How many languages (technologies?) do we need to build a simple CRUD web application? Does anyone remember VAX-COBOL? It was a simple but powerful tool to code business applications. Today we need to master Java, SQL, XML, HTML , Javascript and HTTP just to build the most anemic app.

Lost in web presentation tools !
I'm currently learning (playing?) with Flex Builder 3.0. What is the future of the presentation layer for web apps? There are so many options today but none of them seem to be a silver bullet. Applets, Html, Javascript, Java Server Faces, etc. etc. How many hours have we spent in those failure technologies? It seems like the Sisifo work.
